History
Telular Corporation was established in 1986 when it acquired the intellectual property rights for its cellular interface concept and methodology. Throughout the next two decades, the company focused on creating and marketing fixed wireless products, which would facilitate use of the cellular network for voice and data normally sent over the traditional, wireline telephone network.
Over the past five years, Telular has evolved from primarily a hardware-oriented company to a wireless solutions provider. Telular leverages its expertise in sending data over wireless networks as well as processing and storing that data for use by end users in areas such as security services and supply chain management. This is sometimes identified as the machine-to-machine (M2M) wireless space.
In October 2008, Telular expanded its M2M portfolio through the acquisition of what is now called our TankLink line of business. The company further expanded this division through the January 2011 acquisition of the SmarTank service offering of SmartLogix, Inc. – a key value added reseller partner of Telular.
Telular Corporation has been a publicly held company since 1994. Its stock is traded on the NASDAQ exchange under the symbol "WRLS." Headquartered in Chicago, Telular has development, sales and support offices in Atlanta and Miami.
